YCN Student Awards 2017/18 - KFC Bucket Design The Brief Create a fresh new design for the KFC bucket that will con temporise it, and elevate it to true iconic status.  Background KFC, the world's largest chain of chicken-based service restaurants, grew from the chicken business set up by the Colonel Harland D Sanders in the 1950s. The Colonel had found a way to combine 11 herbs and spices with flour to create a unique taste, and to this day the secret recipe is only known to a handful of people. It is locked away in a vault in Louisville, Kentucky.  The KFC bucket is widely recognised piece of packaging, synonymous with KFC's Original Recipe chicken, and with family sharing occasions. OUGD603 | Extended Practice | Brief 01 | Development - Sketches & Ideas | The Bear And The Stars Logo Design

Initial Sketches The initial sketches are illustrations that I drew from other influential bear designs from: logo designs, brands, poster, and illustrations on the internet. The client Jodie requested her logo to consist of the follow a bear looking up to the moon with stars around it. For the colour scheme she would like the northern lights colours. Therefore below are quick rough sketches of the bear logo.  The idea of these quick illustrations were to make them imitate a bear silhouette by keeping them 2D as the client is an animator who specialises in 2D animation hence keeping to her style ethics. The constellation of the bear designs is to enforce the bear being in the night sky. By drawing out different star shapes (diamond), a crescent moon and the shape/details on the bear have been considered.
