Studio Brief 02 - Design Process - Public Information Leaflet Design Final Design

After my critique lesson I started to develop more on my  public information leaflet. Here I followed my peers  advice on my previous leaflets and finally design my final  leaflet which are the images on this design bore. I tried to  be more experimental with my colour palette and use more  pastel colours to make it more friendlier for my target  audience. I wanted the leaflet to unfold into a poster as  well so children could place it on the wall.    Evaluation In conclusion, this is my final piece printed in a thin glossy paper and a solid glossy paper to see which material is more durable when it comes to mailing it or giving it to  children at their schools when being taught the safety of Stranger Danger within lesson. From the experiment the thin glossy paper is much better compared to the solid one  as the thin material is easier to fold, plus the information on the leaflet was not damaged as much compared to the solid o...

Studio Brief 02 - Design Process - Public Information Leaflet Design Final Critique/Development

In this final critique based on the Public Information Leaflet, I did some mock-up leaflets from my previous sketches and ideas in my sketchbook. Here are some images of my first mock-ups of the public  information leaflet designed based on child abduction /  Stranger Danger.  These were discussed within our small groups, we each present our work  that we did for this studio brief, I did my leaflet based on stranger  danger for young children. Here I wanted the leaflet to have a f riendly yet approachable image. In my previous sketches /  designs I wanted the leaflet to be interactive for my target  audience (children) as it is difficult to get them interested  with a leaflet filled with information. Which will bore them as soon as they start reading. In consideration to my previous idea,  many of my peers said it would be difficult to make a leaflet  interactive like pop-up, folds etc. And that the idea to make  ...

Studio Brief 02 - Design Process - Public Information Leaflet Design Spreads Critique

During this Critique based on our Public Information Leaflet, I based my leaflet on Stranger Danger/Child abduction and my target audience would be primary school children. Here are some of my sketches and ideas on how I would like to present  my leaflet for children to help them understand the dangers of stranger  danger. I took inspiration off the public information video: Charley the  Ginger cat, and use him as a mascot for the children to listen to.  So I have done sketches of redesigning Charley the cat. And the  colour choices that I have chosen which are approachable  / friendly  for children to be attracted and interested in. In addition, here are some sketches on how I would like to layout the  leaflet. Peers responds:  Creative with leaflet layout. Might be a bit to ambiguous for the leaflet to be interactive To much like a children's story book keep thinking about leaflet size (e...

Studio Brief 02 - Design Process - Information Design/Research

In Studio Brief 02, we need to produce a public information leaflet . This should effectively communicate the following: Key facts, Figures, Statistics, data and the information that we should of collected/identified within Study Task 03. This is following from the previous Study Task 03 - Public Information Video/Research, which is about how to prevent a child from being abducted by a stranger, this is based on the animation of a ginger cat, called Charley.   The leaflet should be no larger than 35.3cm by 25cm.  The leaflet should communicate the information in a clear, understandable and engaging format. It should also be appropriate for my identified target audience.  RESEARCH    KEY POINTS - HOW TO PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN AGAINST ABDUCTION What YOU should do: Know your child's whereabouts at all times. At an very early age, teach your child their name, address and telephone number. This must include your first name and last name. Teach your chil...
