Initial Sketches The initial sketches are illustrations influenced by previous, examples and entries on bechance 'Noughts & Crosses' book cover design. The brief outlines that the book must be able to attract children and young adults to pick up and read the book. Therefore below are some quick rough sketches semiotics of Noughts and crosses, illustration of hands crossing their pinky fingers, school illustrations like desk, hearts to symbolise the two main characters forbidden love, chalk board with noughts and crosses and plasters which are round like the 'noughts' and the longer plasters crossing across from each other to make a 'cross'.  These sketches will be vectorised via Adobe Illustrator to digitalise them, additionally to make it quicker to test colour schemes.    Illustrator vectors Below are some vector images of our sketches vectorised.  Typefaces Below are the selection of typeface which has been complied toget...

Inspirations By considering examples from current Hairdressers logo designs. The most common theme of these logo design have a graphic or illustration that is also included in the name of the hairdressers. However, the client did not request for any additional illustrations nor graphics (scissors, hair, etc.) in his logo. Despite this it maybe good to experiment with it incase the client may like it when shown to them.  Initial Sketches The initial sketches are simple styles of typefaces of Ed's this includes being in a sans serif style, calligraphy or serif. From the client's request the logo should include 'Ed's Hair'. Below are some examples of sketches. Typefaces Below are the selection of typeface which me and my collaboration partner have complied together which we believe are suitable for the client's logo. Majority of the typefaces are sans serif this is due to the request and preference of the client. The reason for this that her Youtube audience and newcomers need to be able to read the name of the channel clearly. Therefore a typeface which is simple and easy to read is vital as consumers/subscribers and designers can identify who's logo it belongs to. Correction - 'The Bear And the Stars' Feedback from client Once our logo designs were our  satisfaction we properly  refined and formatted them as sent them to our client. This will help narrow down why these particular designs were previous winners as these covers were put out as examples. The Brief You are invited to design a cover look for Noughts & Crosses to bring this original and unforgettable book to a new generation of readers. The design should ensure that this important book remains a must-read for every teenager.  Your cover design needs to include all the cover copy supplied and be designed to the specified design template (B format, 198mm high x 129mm wide, spine width 28mm), incorporating the Penguin branding and all additional elements such as the barcode.
