In this blog shows my rough sketches of my record sleeves for the artists I have chosen to design a record sleeve for. These are Chvrches - ‘Clearest Blue and Max Richeter - ‘Dream 3’.
Again going back to what I stated in my previous blog, I said for Chvrches - Clearest Blue. That I will focus on one of the lyrics sentences to design my Record Sleeve cover.
They lyric is “You were the perfect star”. This is why my sketches include a diamond yet crystal theme and shattered glass effect to emphasise these lyrics. I tried to form a star shape with crystal shard for experiment. I also did some tear drops or rain drops
to them portray the clearest of the song.
For the Max Richeter - Dream 3, I focus more on the music as there were no lyrics for this song. I though the music was very captivating as though it was putting you through a traces and mystical journey. This is why I did symbolism of magical/ mystical elements like stars, crescent moon and wish bone. Or even a dream catcher, as it portrays the music and the journey that the listener will encounter.
In the next blog I will present the digital versions of these sketches.
