Feedback from client - Jodie Sech
"I was really surprised at how quickly and efficiently you guys worked! Adored all the designs and the choice of colours matched my original design which I liked. The final design is exactly what I've been looking for and I'm excited to use it!

Would you use us again for other jobs? "YES! Of course and not just cause you're my mates, you two and genuinely brilliant at what you do!"

Evaluation
In conclusion the design process of redesigning 'The Bear And The Stars' logo was challenging yet pleasing. Initially sketching the bear logo was very easy as the client knew what was needed and outline clearly instructions of their logo thoroughly. By regarding to current bear logo designs online it was inspiring and helpful as it help guide though what elements in a bear logo is needed.

By using the google drive as a media sharing platform that my collaborator, Yaqub Mir could access was beneficial for the both of us as we were able to edit and work on each others work. The google drive made everything organisable as we put them in folders: colours, development, typefaces, sketches, vectors and so on. This sharing media platform was appealing as we were able to given each other constant feedback. When contacting the client we made a group chat via messenger. This was helpful as we are all messenger users and the client would reply quite quickly to our designs and give clear feedback towards the designs.

However, the most hardest part of the design was creating a banner of the Northern lights. We both found it quite challenging as we're not illustrative designers nor it is our strongest skill set. Nevertheless by combining our work together made the banner look more professional and sleek. Another obstacle we faced was the sudden change and search for a new typeface, the typeface that the client liked was a typeface only used for personal use not commercial. The collaborative partner found a typeface which was similar to the first one this was called BPreplay this font is free and can be used for commercially.

Overall, the brief fun yet challenging. The reason of the challenging stages was the northern light design, colour scheme and typeface issue. Nevertheless the collaboration and communication between Yaqub was excellent we worked very well together helped each other on designs aspects. Additionally we were not able to work together in person but working via social media and the internet was satisfactory. Therefore I would external collaboration with this partner again and use the google drive method to share designs.

Evaluation from Collaborative partner - Yaqub Mir

"Overall I thought that the project was a success. We finished everything we set out to do in good time. Katie did a great job of making sure we were ahead of schedule, was incredibly easy to talk to, gave feedback promptly and accordingly. The logo development started with Katie and I brainstorming the type of design we wanted, how we thought it should look, what assets we should use and how we should use them. This process was easy as we were on the same page on how we wanted to design this logo. We both designed around the choices we made and shared them on a google drive that Katie had made, we then decided to use the strongest parts of each designs together and narrowing down the typefaces from a list we had curated. The banner we created stemmed from a theme and colour palette of the northern lights. Katie is a far better illustrator than I am so thankfully she drew out how they should look in good time, with clear and concise instructions on what to do with the design after the fact. Given the opportunity, I would like to work with Katie again on projects as I feel she works incredibly well in a team, manages her time accordingly and produces great design outcomes" - Yaqub Mir

Publication Layout - Leah For the inside of the 'Our Generation' publication, the collaborator Leah was in charge of this  brief's outcome segment. The publication's layout was constructed with 'Adobe Indesign' Leah made guide lines and measurements to help assist where the Photographs and the text should be placed. Illustrations of a paint brush stroke was experimented to give the pages more characteristics. We mutually agreed to make the size of the publication A5 format, and the number of pages are 16. Previously it was going to be 17, however one participant was unable to provided us with their childhood photo for us. Due to this situation Leah had to be more selective with the photos and information (Quotes) that we believe was significant for outlining our briefs context.  Below are some images of this layout format: Participant page order by names: Katie Sung  Leah Chen  Jackie Wan Tracey Lau Eliza Mo Kylie Lee Lewis Capper...

Studio Brief 02 - Licence to Print Money | History of Money & Banknotes Research

Money History The word money comes from the Latin 'Moneta' - which is the first Roman coinage that was minted at the temple of Juno Moneta in 344BC. Before coinage, various objects such as cattle, pig's teeth and shells had been used as money. For most of its history money has taken the form of coins made of precious metal. The money has had intrinsic value. Many of the units of modern money recall their origin in amounts of precious metal (e.g the pound sterling was originally the Roman pound (twelves ounces) of silver.) The Beginning of Banking in Britain In Great Britain, the modern age of banking began in 1640 when King Charles I, needed cash to pay the (English) army that he was raising against Scotland ( of which he was also King.)to seized the golf bullion that many merchants and nobles had placed in the Tower of London for safe-keeping. In 1642, a further warfare broke our with the English Civil War between the King and Parliament. London was the stronghol...

Katie always  communicated very well. We were both impressed with how she incorporated the feedback we gave into her designs, s he always consciously and aware of what we wanted overall, sent many new variations of the logo designs, always referred back to feedback and messaged us for specific information (e.g. Business card enquires) and she was able to explained her designs to us and how it would be much better (i.e. change of the colour scheme).  To conclude the final results were great.  I would highly recommend Kati...
